• Stripping E-mail Address From Post

From Tom Moore@VERT to All on Tue Oct 27 20:09:40 2026
    Hi,
If I place a post on my bbs using an nntp client the post on the local system has my e-mail address attached.
Is there a way to strip this out so that local users do not know if I am posting via nntp or through a local message editor?

    Hi,

I'm guessing your news client is including your email address? A dump of the message headers from such a message would help.

    I assume you're enquiring about Synchronet's nntpservice.js.
Are you authenticating as your user account?

Is there a way to strip this out so that local users do not know if I am posting via nntp or through a local message editor?

The easiest way would be to configure your client to not send that header field that includes your email address.
