    Is HAM radio really alive and well? I thought I heard not many people are talking on HAM radio these days, and those who are tend to talk about HAM radio..

    I wasn't thinking of CB radio; I was thinking of HAM radio, and I thought I'd heard it had died down quite a bit. I was thinking of HAM because my dad has a HAM radio license and I've often thought of getting into it. I actually thought CB radio was probably more common because there are less restrictions on it?

    My personal view is this - YMMV. :-)

    I've had my license for several years and recently put up a
    tower at home to be able to 'reach out' further, but it's
    NOT my main hobby/interest.

    There are quite a few people that still use it, but it's NOT
    24 hours a day around here, but in more populated places?
