CNetEchoSort v2.0 - put your echo list in alphabetical order
If you run C-Net/5 Amiga Pro, your subboard list is probably in the
order the boards happened to get created in. This door sorts a
network by TITLE - the name your callers actually read off the list.
It works out the moves itself. It reads the current order straight
out of C-Net's subboard database, plans the sort, shows you the list
before and after with the number of moves needed, and then feeds the
moves to the BBS through the ARexx port. You never type an ML
command.
That is worth more than it sounds. Moving one subboard is
"ML <from> <to>", and every move renumbers everything after it, so a
list worked out in advance is right for exactly one move and wrong
from then on. My FidoNet list is 90 boards and needed 83 moves. The
door did it in two runs. By hand it is an evening's typing and one
mistyped number away from a mess.
What it does:
o Menu of your FTN networks, worked out from your own echo config
o Shows the list before and after, and the move count, before it
changes anything
o Titles in [brackets] sort to the end, where admin echoes belong
o SysOp-only; it never writes to the subboard database itself
o Every change goes through C-Net's own ML command
o Free to use and pass on. ARexx source, nothing compiled
FOR C-NET/5 AMIGA PRO ONLY. It drives C-Net's ML command and reads
C-Net's own subboard files. Other Amiga BBS packages organise their
conferences differently and have no ML command, so there is nothing
in this archive for them. Written and tested on 5.37c.

Reign of Fire also carries the C-Net/5 Amiga Pro SysOp manual as an
AmigaGuide, if that is of use to anyone still running the software.
