    Hej Grant!

    Usage: makeinfo [OPTION]... TEXINFO-FILE...

    Translate Texinfo source documentation to various other formats, by default Info files suitable for reading online with Emacs or
    standalone GNU Info.

    Hi Maurice,

    Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunatly when I said info file, the files I'm working with aren't truley textinfo files. They are text files that I call info files. Basically files that I've created or collected for how to do variouse things on computers (howto s).

    https://web.mit.edu/gnu/doc/html/texi_2.html
    ---------------------------
    In order to be made into a printed manual and an Info file, a Texinfo file must begin with lines like this:

    \input texinfo
    @setfilename info-file-name
    @settitle name-of-manual

    ---------------------------------------------
    My files are an amalgam of lynx/elinks html doctuments that have been printed to text file (html codes removed). Also all of the edits I've made to them, and or files I've created myself with no node indicators.

    When I ran makeinfo on one of my test text files I recieved the following: makeinfo /tmp/anacron.brief.2.info.txt
    /tmp/anacron.brief.2.info.txt:52: unknown command `monthly' /tmp/anacron.brief.2.info.txt:129: misplaced { /tmp/anacron.brief.2.info.txt:129: misplaced }

    This is how I figured out, my mistake saying what I was working on was "info files".

    Ah! I get it now. I've been doing things like that for decades now, such as converting purely text messages to fidonet MSGs, this message being a prime example of that.

    I respect your tenacity, especially these days given the lack of cooperation and compatibilty. A well formatted text file is worth 100s of overbloated documents that have nothing of importance to say, nevermind teach.

    Het leven is goed,
    Maurice
