• PVE dedupe?

From poindexter FORTRAN@1337:3/178 to All on Tue Jul 21 07:45:25 2026
I'm using PBS to back up my BBS, with tons of static files in the files
section - probably 50% of the total file size.

My dedupe factor is only 2.81? Last time I ran PBS I could have sworn it
    was in the 7-8 range?

whats the underlying file system? i take it zfs, but hows the pool setup exactly?

also, pbs dedupe is global afaik, so other backups may be weighing your averagea down.

I'm backing up to a NFS mount. Sames as I did before when I noticed
    higher dedupe values.

also, pbs dedupe is global afaik, so other backups may be weighing your averagea down.

Right now, the only VM I'm backing up is the VM - with approximately 5
gb of files in the files section that doesn't change.
